America's regulatory structure has been weakened, functionally and organizationally.
From financial markets through the work place to the kitchen table and play room, we have lost control of the agencies we have taken for granted and permitted corporatism to manipulate at will.
It will be the student’s task to help remedy this situation by scrutinizing ONE regulatory agency: it's lobbyists, Congressional oversight committees and budget process and reporting on this on a weekly - or even daily - basis.
An example of a regulatory agency students might scrutinize is the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), drilling down to its Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), and then further down into its Animal Welfare section, which has recently developed an expanded Animal Care Information System (ACIS).
